So, on Thursday, my computer blew up. We had the power go out twice; my computer recovered from the first short. But after the second, when I tried to boot it up, the delightful aroma of burnt plastic filled the air, and my system seriously, truly, honest-to-God sounded like a smoke alarm. Breeeeeeeeeeeeeep. Other than that excitement, Freyja's doing better too. The vet says to leave her be for another week or two, and then he wants her to come in for another x-ray, possibly an ultrasound and tissue samples. We heard back from the vet yesterday. He got Freyja's bloodwork back, and she was normal on almost all counts. The good thing is that she doesn't have kidney failure or cancer (which was what the vet was expecting because of how her x-rays looked). Her white bloodcell count was in the normal range too, so it doesn't look like an infection either. The bad news is, we still don't totally know what we're dealing with. The vet thinks that at this point, it's most likely a congenital problem that just now made itself known, or that she got hurt and bruised her kidney badly.
