Artist's Comments
This is a commission for the fiance of one of my best guy friends, after she looked all over town and couldn't find what she wanted. She wanted something really simple, and this is what we came up with. It's not finished yet because I still need to put combs on it and wrap ribbon around so the wires don't snag her hair, but it's close enough for government work (read: to show to you guys).
It's a mix of freshwater and Swarvoski glass pearls, and Swarovski crystals in crystal AB, light rose, and aquamarine. (I get to be in the wedding, too, I'm a groomsman (groomslady?) and I know you guys really care about that.) Named for Branwen, goddess of love, beauty, and regeneration, who hails from Manx and Wales; chosen in part because I think some of her family originally hailed from around there. |
